If there's one endearing quirk about our household, that would be the constant noise downstairs made by kids frolicking around our living room area, occasionally breaking and throwing things once your eyes start to dart away from them in a millisecond. No, not my siblings. The raucous flock consists of nephews, nieces and random kids from around the neighborhood.

No, our house isn’t made of candy-coated doors, chocolate-dripping walls and other confectionery whatnot either but it sure has something to do with my doting mother. Undeniably annoying when they cry, but I must say those kids’ laughter is as soothing as the chirping of our three little birds in the morning of which one is dubbed as third wheel.

Moving on.

While trying out clothes, one of my nieces went upstairs and saw me wearing this Buttermilk colored cami top and Hazelwood pants. Buttermilk? Or is it Shortbread? My stomach growled. I think Beige is a safer bet.

She asked me in that accusing tone of a three-year old kid if I was supposed to go out without any top on. Apparently, she thinks a cami is not a legitimate outerwear but merely a bra.

I was tempted to explain that I was inspired by these editorials from last month's Vogue and Harper's Bazaar highlighting cami as one of the key items of an outdoor shoot. And that I find Daria Werbowy and Mariacarla Boscono effortlessly beautiful whenever clad in such piece.

But I just smiled at her. I tried not to be a condescending prick in front of my niece. We must reserve that for an adult conversation. Am I right, Mister?
