My sartorial history has always been a by-product of sporadic outbursts of questionable matching and mixing of patterns in my brain. One day, I'll be staring at an untouched bowl of morning cereal and then suddenly the idea of wearing a marigold tunic top and slouchy white pants would pop out of nowhere.

How I arrived with that combination at the sight of a bland breakfast, you'll never know. Neither will I.

Still, I enjoy the process. It's like getting a free and spontaneous (albeit slightly unwelcomed) style advice, you know. Who wouldn't want that?

But among the hundreds of ensemble ideas, I've always cherished the ones that might seem downright outrageous to some people. I just think that an unlikely pair of clothing matched with a blissfully colored Delpozo-like attack can bring the best out of anyone's individuality.

And I like being wonderfully weird.

That's why no excitement has come close to rivaling what I felt during wash days in school. It's a day of self-expression. Loud prints, bright colors, uneven silhouettes, odd textures under overt campus scrutiny.

But here, a sleek and intimidating black flared trousers paired with billowing ruffled white chiffon top looks every bit different from my "the-quirkier-and-more-colorful-the-happier-I-get" personal mantra.

Does this mean that my style department has finally seen the light of "more mature and serious" silhouettes? Well, either that or our company's dress code is just getting stricter than ever.

Cheers to corporate office apropos. Damn.

(Grabs blazer. Swears to clock in early.)
