Soul in a languid state. My fingers tracing down the spine of one of my dog-eared books while pondering on the meaning of that last phrase.  Fighting the urge to close my eyes yet as Trevor Pinnock serenades me with his Pachelbel Canon.

Different music (preferably those without lyrics) and different books, that's pretty much my daily route to dreamland now. Unlike before, I was burdened with the mental debate between a satin slip dress or a loosely draped silk pajamas right on the verge of closing my eyes.

And by "Before", I meant during school summer vacations. Oh, the night was young and  all we had were petty woes then!

But in this fast-paced world of twenty-something dot com millionaires and influencers who have adeptly achieved everything imaginable, sometimes the act of sleeping is nothing but a mere physiological responsibility.

Always hustling. Work. Work. Work.

And I really don't think you'd still want to be impeccably dressed in satins, frothy laces and silk bralettes when you'd be unmistakably buried anyway under a pile of paperwork or  sprawled out in a chair with a glaring laptop in front of you. Such sight is forgivable if you're working on something that you love, otherwise, well you might as well just don that ruby red teddy!

 Half-kidding.

With such blurriness on the concept of day and night, this is perhaps the reason why boudoir dressing does a fantastic crossover from being a thing of the night to a street style flirt in broad daylight. They're just damn too good for sleeping in, anyway.

And right on cue, La Perla and Fleur de Mal lingerie collections sashay towards our direction with reassuringly utilitarian smiles. You can dance with them at Farfetch!

They're good on the hips. If you know what I mean.

*Winks.
